B ack in the early 1970s, scientists at the National Institutes of
Health (NIH), which is part of the U.S. Department of Health, made a
series of discoveries about bad breath. Put simply, what they found was
this: About 90% of all bad breath cases have a single cause, and, for
people in this group, the NIH scientists literally fell over a specific
combination of common household ingredients that eliminated the bad
breath problem an incredible 96 times out of 100!

A breaththrough solution to bad breath?
BAD BREATH: Research by US government scientists has revealed an easy
solution.

It was an impressive discovery, but the fact that anyone could make the
same 'secret formula' at home with stuff you can get at your local
supermarket, usually for less than $2, meant it was immediately buried
and ignored. After all, halitosis is big business: Americans alone
spend more than $5 billion dollars each and every year on expensive
mouth-washes, breath mints, and other bad breath products and "cures".

So the research was quietly published in various obscure scientific
journals (which are only read by other scientists!), and the
researchers involved were moved on to other things. And, over time,
their work was practically-forgotten. Until now, that is...

Researching bad breath in the lab U sing their research as a starting
point, I have devised an updated technique (which takes account of more
